A Runway Protection Zone or RPZ is an area located at the end of a runway extending into the approach. It is required to enhance the safety and protection of people and property on the ground. Where practical, airports should own the property within the limits of the RPZ and clear all above-ground objects such as trees or buildings. As such, a public meeting to discuss Trenton-Mercer Airport’s RPZ and Obstruction Mitigation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the West Trenton Ballroom, 40 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ 08628.

Two formal presentations with question and answer sessions conducted by the Consultant team (C&S Engineers, Inc.) will take place at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. For the remaining time the County and its Consultant Team will be available to answer questions one-on-one, and graphics will be on display for review.

Please note that proposed construction associated with the Master Plan and new Terminal Facility at Trenton-Mercer will not be covered in this meeting. Written comment forms will be provided for those that wish to submit comments in writing regarding the Runway Protection Zone. A copy of this notice can be found on the mercercounty.org website.
