The Office of Weights and Measures is a state-mandated office established to ensure equity in the marketplace.

• All commercial weighing, measuring, and timing devices within the County are registered and certified for accuracy. Businesses are held equally to the same uniform standard and all customers are assured of common purchasing practices.
• Inspects all commercial weighing and measuring devices and performs random commodity audits for items sold by weight or measure; investigates complaints of fraud on consumer items. Inspects all commercial establishments for compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to weighing and measuring devices.
