2024-2025 ENERGY ASSISTANCE SEASON UPDATES

 

2024-2025 Energy Assistance Season

 

The County of Mercer will be accepting applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) beginning on October 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025 (as funding is available).  Mercer County will continue accepting applications for the Universal Service Fund (USF) program throughout the year.  Applications will be processed using the on-line portal process.

 

Options for applying:

 

1.         It is highly recommended you complete your application online, most importantly if you have a
            shut off notice: https://dcaid.dca.nj.gov

 

2.         Applications can be sent to: housing@mercercounty.org

 

3.         By appointment – call or email to schedule: (609) 989-6959 option 2 or housing@mercercounty.org

           

            Beginning Nov 1st appointments will be required when applications are processed in-person until further notice.
            Please call or email to schedule an   appointment.

 

4.         Drop Off – Applications can be dropped off at the County McDade Administration Bldg. located at
            640 South Broad Street, Trenton. Please ensure you have your recertification completed with the required
            information (current income, most recent PSE&G bill, and oil receipt).

 

5.         Applications can be sent by regular mail to:

            P.O. Box 8068 Trenton, NJ 08650-0068.

 

Please note the following:

Status updates will not be available until late December when the first round of benefits is released.

 

Office hours are as follows:

            Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm.  Please arrive by 3:30pm.

            The office is closed 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.  Please arrive by 11:30.

            Closed the following Holidays:  Nov. 5th, 11th, 28th & 29th, Dec. 25th, and Jan. 1st.

 

The County reserves the right to close when the office reaches capacity.
