A division of the Mercer County Department of Human Services, the Mercer County Division of Public Health was established in 2004 by former Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes, the Board of County Commissioners, and the Clerk to the Board. The Division consists of two major programs: the County Environmental Health Agency (CEHA) and the Local Information Network Communication System (LINCS). These programs provide emergency preparedness functions and public and environmental health activities throughout Mercer County and work together to further improve collaborations with community stakeholders.
The Division also provides information and resources about public health issues, such as disease information, public health communications, and safety tips.
