The Office of Personnel serves as a strategic partner in fostering a respectful, inclusive, and innovative work environment that supports Mercer County's mission by attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse, skilled, workforce. - Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Ensuring the county attracts qualified and diverse candidates through equitable and transparent hiring processes.
- Employee Relations: Supporting positive employee-employer relationships by addressing workplace concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with policies and labor agreements.
- Compensation and Benefits Administration: Providing competitive compensation packages and managing comprehensive employee benefit programs, including health, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
- Training and Professional Development: Offering a variety of learning opportunities to enhance employees’ skills, support career advancement, and promote leadership development.

- Employee Wellness and Assistance Programs: Providing resources that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being, including employee advisory service (EAS) and wellness initiatives.
- Labor Relations and Negotiations: Managing labor agreements and fostering productive relationships with unions to ensure fair working conditions for all employees.
- HR Technology and Data Management: Utilizing HR systems and tools to enhance data-driven decision-making, improve efficiency, and streamline processes.
