Board Worker Program
Election Integrity is a statement we hear often. The Board of Elections is giving you the opportunity for you to turn your words into actions. You’re invited to serve your community and country as a Board Worker through the Mercer County Board Worker Program.
The Board of Elections must staff and manage polling places for all Elections. To do this, we depend on the commitment of civic-minded citizens who are trained to manage the many job duties at each Polling Location on Election Day.
The use of the County’s electronic voting system makes the expertise of Board Workers more important than ever. All workers who volunteer will receive training.
It is vital to have board workers such as YOU!
The Board of Elections is currently recruiting board workers. This important civic duty is open to all registered voters in Mercer County. Bilingual Spanish and Hindi speaking board workers are especially needed.
Help us meet the following goals:
- Provide trained staff at poll locations on Election Day
- Maintain a reliable force of trained board workers
- Reinforce electronic voting in Mercer County
- Increase and strengthen the availability of bilingual board workers
Conducting an election requires a great deal of coordination, so when you sign up you become an important element of this complex process. Because we depend on you, we require a commitment.
Before you sign up, please be sure you can commit to working the shift you requested. While all efforts are made to place volunteers as close to home as possible, it is not a guarantee. Emergencies are inevitable, but we do require a valid reason to cancel within 15 days of an election.
