The Office for Community Centers and Childcare provides financial and technical assistance to community-based organizations, thus enabling them to address unmet needs of the community and improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable citizens of Mercer County. Through the Request for Proposals (RFP) process, funds are distributed to local agencies to administer the following programs:

• Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program, which helps income-eligible Mercer County residents with services including food, utility assistance, back rental assistance, and information and referral.
• Child Care Voucher Program, which helps income-eligible parents/guardians pay for childcare.
• Child Care Services, which provide financial assistance to centers already serving children of low-income families.
