General Information

Eco-Friendly Park Use is to ensure the ecological integrity of our parks and trail systems, as well as the well-being of the wildlife in our parklands, we ask that all park patrons follow Park Commission regulations and exercise eco-friendly practices when recreating in our parks.  By being an eco-friendly park user, you are helping everyone have a positive experience while using our parks.

What does it mean to recreate in an eco-friendly fashion?

As a land-managing agency, the Mercer County Park Commission recognizes its responsibility to provide recreational opportunities while preserving our area’s natural resources.  To encourage positive and responsible park usership, the Stewardship Department has created a list of eco-friendly park practices to minimize the impact of recreation on the park’s wildlife and plant populations. These practices are not always required by our park rules and regulations but are encouraged to ensure our parks can remain as functioning ecosystems and important habitat resources, while providing high quality experiences for people.
