Property Information Portal
The Mercer County Property Information Portal is now closed to the public, for both anonymous and registered users. Please read on for explanation and alternatives.
The Mercer County Property Information Portal provides access to digitized documents related to land development that are maintained in electronic repositories of the Mercer County Clerk, Tax Administrator, and various administrative departments. Digitizing current and historic documents is an ongoing process and no assurance can be given that records returned by this portal are complete or comprehensive. Official copies of some records may require payment of a production fee or a visit to our offices.
Daniel's Law, an amendment to the Open Public Records Act, creates liability for a civil fine for persons who electronically share property address information for judicial and public safety officials. Because the Property Information Portal merely provides access to documents from various sources, with no control of those documents, Mercer County has no means to comply with the law except to limit access to staff of New Jersey governments, agencies, commissions, and their designated third party agents. An amendment to the law allows access to unredacted data by a variety of property transaction professionals. A web form is provided above to certify membership in one of the eligible professions listed on the form. Note that form submissions with no link to eligible active professional license or contact for government sponsor will be disregarded.
Members of the public may still visit the offices of the County Clerk or register to access the County Clerk's Official Records Search page.
For basic tax parcel information, the NJ Office of GIS hosts a parcel map with all owners' names redacted.
More information about Daniel's Law is available in a web portal hosted by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. If you wish that open data services like the PIP were still available, you may reach out to your State Legislature representatives.
Please see Help pages within the Portal for details about record sets, how to use the application, and for limitations in the end-user agreement.
