The Human Services Advisory Council has four designated standing committees.

The Executive Committee is led by the chairperson of the Human Services Advisory Council. Members meet on an as-needed basis and may act on behalf of the council between scheduled meetings and/or in emergency situations.

The Government and Policy Committee coordinates the annual legislative breakfast, an event where Human Services Advisory Council members advocate, educate, and discuss social service issues confronting the council and social service community with elected New Jersey legislators. This committee also serves as the Human Services Advisory Council Nomination Committee, which recommends an annual slate of council officers.

The Youth Homelessness Committee supports the New Jersey Department of Children and Families Youth At-Risk of Homelessness grant and shares information related to youth/youth homelessness with subcommittee members and the human services community. The committee sponsors a COUNT on YOUTH, which offers an annual snapshot of the county's homeless youth.

Homeless services and emergency assistance providers attend the monthly meetings of the Homeless, Outreach, Prevention, and Emergency (HOPE) Services Forum. This group allows members to keep apprised of existing homeless services and discuss specific issues that arise.
