Park Commission to accept picnic reservations starting Feb. 18
The Mercer County Park Commission will begin accepting reservations for the five county-owned picnic areas on Feb. 18 at noon for the 2020 season.

Free tax preparation help offered in Mercer County
Many sites throughout Mercer County will offer free income tax preparation assistance to help residents prepare and file their 2019 taxes, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes said. Following is a list of sites where free income tax preparation help is being provided to qualified individuals.

Park Commission to conduct prescribed burning at Mercer Meadows
The Mercer County Park Commission has initiated a prescribed burn plan for Mercer Meadows with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service (NJFFS). The NJFFS worked in collaboration with the Park Commission’s Stewardship Department to develop a plan tailored to suit the ecological needs of the Pole Farm.

Tennis Center set to open 2020 spring/summer registration
Sign-ups for 2020 spring/summer programs and leagues at the Mercer County Tennis Center begin at 8 a.m. for adults and 9 a.m. for juniors on Saturday, Feb. 8, on the Park Commission’s Community Pass website.

Park Commission announces summer nature camps

Freeholder Board Teams with Shine and Inspire Closet for Annual Donation Drive
The Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders recently announced a partnership with Mercer County non-profit Shine and Inspire for their annual winter donation drive. The Freeholders will be collecting personal hygiene products, school supplies, non-perishable food, and clothing.

Freeholders Approve over $350,000 in Spending for Human Service’s Programs and Care

Mercer to mark anniversary of Pearl Harbor attack
On Sunday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m., Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes will welcome veterans and other members of the Greater Mercer County community to a ceremony marking the 78th anniversary of the Japanese air attack on Pearl Harbor, which happened on Dec. 7, 1941.
