Park Commission to conduct deer management program at Mercer County Park
The Mercer County Park Commission will conduct a deer management program at Mercer County Park on select days from Oct. 27, 2018, through Feb. 16, 2019. A public information session regarding the hunt will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Mercer County Park Ice Skating Center beginning at 7 p.m.

The County’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) allows individuals meeting various income qualifications to apply for bill payment assistance, energy crisis assistance and energy-related home repairs.

Howell Farm to hold old-time barn auction
An old-time barn auction will be held at Howell Living History Farm on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items made by the farm’s blacksmiths, restoration carpenters, bakers and sewing guild, and much more, will be included in the auction.

Freeholders Call on Legislature to Strengthen Bus Safety Regulations
On Thursday September 13, The Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders unanimously approved a resolution calling on members of the New Jersey State Legislature to approve a bill package that addresses school bus safety concerns and strengthens protections for New Jersey students on school buses.

Wetlands restoration project public meeting to be held Sept. 20
A public information meeting on the Roebling Park project will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Tulpehaking Nature Center, to provide attendees with an overview of the restoration and information about project methods, and give residents an opportunity to ask questions.
