Hightstown wins Mercer Consumer Bowl again
A team of students from Hightstown High School took the top honor at Mercer County’s 2019 New Jersey High School Consumer Bowl, beating out six other area high schools in a quiz-show style competition on good consumer practices.

Public meetings planned on Dam Site 21 park project
Dam Site 21 is a 370-acre tract that will be the focus of a series of public meetings to discuss enhancements at the site. The first meeting will be held Thursday, March 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Conference Center at Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor.

Sign up now for youth fishing program at nature center
The goal of this free program is to encourage children ages 8-14 to avoid tobacco, drug, and alcohol use by providing alternative activities while having fun. Participants can learn to fish, discover aquatic and environmental resources, and develop positive life skills.

Park Commission announces nesting eagles in parks
The Mercer County Park Commission is pleased to announce that two pairs of bald eagles have chosen County Parks for nest sites. The first free public event will be at Mercer County Park at the West Picnic Area on Friday, Feb. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Mercer County Tennis Center set to open 2019 spring/summer registration

Park Commission to accept picnic reservations beginning Feb. 19

While he is currently in his third term as Freeholder, Andrew’s first taste of public service came while volunteering for now Mayor of Trenton Reed Gusciora’s Assembly campaign in 1995.

Mercer County Wildlife Center seeks volunteer support
The Mercer County Wildlife Center, which accepted and treated more than 2,500 birds, mammals and reptiles in 2018, will be holding orientations for new volunteers on March 16 and March 24. Those who are interested are required to attend only one of the two sessions for this unique opportunity.
